Our story starts way back year 1974
Established since 2nd oct 1974
Deaf Bilingual Academy by Mook Badhir Sangathan is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to serving the deaf community. Our mission is to provide education, vocational training, and support to individuals who are deaf , with the aim of helping them become self-sufficient and lead fulfilling lives.
Our organization was founded on the belief that every person, regardless of their ability to hear or speak, deserves equal opportunities to learn and grow. We believe that education and vocational training are essential for the deaf community to become self-sufficient and independent.
At IDBA, we work closely with our students, their families, and local communities to provide a range of services and support. Our school provides education and vocational training, while our community outreach programs provide support for families and individuals in need.
Our curriculum is designed to meet the unique needs of the deaf community, with a focus on developing communication skills, critical thinking, and practical life skills. We offer a range of courses, including basic literacy, vocational training, and computer skills, to help our students become self-sufficient and contribute to society.
We also recognize the importance of extracurricular activities in the overall development of our students. Our organization offers a range of activities, including sports, arts and crafts, and community service projects, to help our students develop a well-rounded personality.
At IDBA, we are committed to transparency, accountability, and ethical practices. We are proud of our achievements and are dedicated to continuing to make a positive impact on the deaf community.

Achievements
- Online classes of the class students
- Started online classes of Indian Sign Language - first time ever in India ISL teaching was made available online in India.
- Started online ISL and English literacy classes for the Deaf since April 2020.
- Organised online one national and two international CRE webinars with RCI approval.
- IDBA with ISLIA, initiated to interpret live PM, CM, FM news in ISL live on islia Facebook page, as they were not accessible for the deaf in ISL or sometimes was not quality interpretation on TV
- IDBA also interpreted and made videos with ISL interpretation of awareness, entertainment, comedy by United Nations, film and sports stars, UNICEF First time ever songs, gazals were also accessible with ISL interpretation
- IDBA organised series of online programs by inviting Deaf leaders from all national associations AIFD, AIDACS, AIFDW, AISCD and also WFD/WASLI presidents and were on YouTube for all to view
- Continued with online teaching to DISLI DTISL students Conducted old B,C level exams online and then offline with AYJNISHD approval
- Conducted online art classes, drawing competition, debate, tests, exams, fancy dress competition and much more
- Provided interpreters to lot many NGOs, Govt online and offline.
- Working with NCERT, NIOS on ISL standardization and translation/ interpretation of subject course materials.
Our Vision:
At Indore Deaf Bilingual Academy, operated by Mook Badhir Sangathan for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, our vision is centered on holistic development, encompassing the domains of Quality and Accessible Education, Sports, Cultural and Social Activities, as well as Rehabilitation.
Our primary objective is to empower Deaf individuals, enabling them to become confident, self-esteemed, and productive members of our nation. We are dedicated to providing comprehensive support and resources that foster the overall growth and well-being of the Deaf community.
हमारा दृष्टिकोण:
बधिर और श्रवणबाधित लोगों के लिए मूक बधिर संगठन द्वारा संचालित इंदौर डेफ बाईलिंग्वल एकेडमी में, हमारी दृष्टि समग्र विकास पर केंद्रित है, जिसमें गुणवत्ता और सुलभ शिक्षा, खेल, सांस्कृतिक और सामाजिक गतिविधियों के साथ-साथ पुनर्वास भी शामिल है।
हमारा प्राथमिक उद्देश्य बधिर व्यक्तियों को सशक्त बनाना है, जिससे वे आत्मविश्वास, आत्म-सम्मान और हमारे राष्ट्र के उत्पादक सदस्य बन सकें। हम व्यापक समर्थन और संसाधन प्रदान करने के लिए समर्पित हैं जो बधिर समुदाय के समग्र विकास और कल्याण को बढ़ावा देते हैं।
Our Mission:
At Indore Deaf Bilingual Academy, our mission is to enrich the teaching and learning experience through the implementation of educational bilingualism. This approach utilizes Indian Sign Language as the foundation to teach other languages and subjects, ensuring comprehensive language acquisition and cognitive development for our students.
We are committed to providing our students with diverse platforms for education, enabling them to explore various fields of knowledge and develop a well-rounded skill set. Additionally, we strive to instill cultural values and a sense of patriotism in our students, fostering a strong sense of Deaf Identity and Deaf Community.
Creating a safe and inclusive learning environment is of utmost importance to us. We aim to provide a linguistically rich and accessible atmosphere through Indian Sign Language where students feel respected, valued, and supported in their educational journey.
हमारा उद्देश्य :
इंदौर डेफ बाईलिंग्वल एकेडमी में, हमारा उद्देश्य शैक्षणिक द्विभाषावाद के कार्यान्वयन के माध्यम से शिक्षण और सीखने के अनुभव को समृद्ध करना है। यह दृष्टिकोण भारतीय सांकेतिक भाषा का उपयोग अन्य भाषाओं और विषयों को पढ़ाने की नींव के रूप में करता है, जिससे हमारे छात्रों के लिए व्यापक भाषा अधिग्रहण और संज्ञानात्मक विकास सुनिश्चित होता है।

Our Belief:
At Indore Deaf Bilingual Academy, we firmly believe that language holds greater significance than speech. Effective communication requires a strong command on at least one language, as it forms the basis for meaningful interactions. We emphasize the importance of developing linguistic skills and encourage students to learn Hindi and English, thereby expanding their abilities.
We believe that everyone possesses interests and hidden skills that deserve nurturing and encouragement. Our aim is to create a fostering and inclusive community where all students can thrive and reach their goals.
We firmly uphold the principle of equality, ensuring that all students receive equitable opportunities and support. Recognizing the diverse nature in a classroom, we deeply respect and value the presence of individual differences. Hence, we recognize the unique identity and the language of the deaf community.
हमारा विश्वास:
इंदौर डेफ बाईलिंग्वल एकेडमी में, हम दृढ़ता से मानते हैं कि वाणी की तुलना में भाषा अधिक महत्व रखती है। प्रभावी संचार के लिए कम से कम एक भाषा की मजबूत नींव की आवश्यकता होती है, क्योंकि यह सार्थक बातचीत का आधार बनती है। हम बाधिरों कि मातृ भाषा भारतीय सांकेतिक भाषा के विकास एवं उपयोग पर बल देते हैं और छात्रों को हिंदी और अंग्रेजी भाषाओं में निपुण बनने के लिए प्रोत्साहित करते जिससे उनकी क्षमताओं का विस्तार होता है।
हम मानते हैं कि हर किसी के पास रुचियां और छिपे हुए कौशल होते हैं जो और आगे बढ़ाने एवं प्रोत्साहन के योग्य होते हैं। हमारा उद्देश्य एक विकसित और समावेशी समुदाय बनाना है जहां सभी छात्र आगे बढ़ सकें और अपने लक्ष्यों तक पहुंच सकें।
