Greetings,
It is my pleasure to serve as the Principal of Indore Deaf Bilingual Academy (Mook Badhir Sangathan) School. IDBA is the first bilingual school/college in the country which promotes use of Indian Sign Language in deaf education. It is very important for parents, teachers and policy makers to understand, accept and respect the language of the deaf as their mother tongue to use it freely and professionally for both communication & education.
At our institute, we believe in Equity more than Equality – Equality when everyone gets the same thing and Equity is when everyone gets the things they deserve or need. Equity is where we take their differences and challenges into account so that all have the chance to compete, prove and succeed.
Our team of trained teachers and staff work tirelessly to provide a nurturing & linguistically rich environment where our students can thrive.
Our curriculum is designed to meet the unique needs, abilities of the deaf students, with a focus on developing their communication skills, literacy skills, critical thinking, teamwork value & religious and cultural values, leadership skills, problem solving skills and practical life skills.
We also recognize the importance of extracurricular activities in the overall development of our students. Our school offers a range of activities, including sports, art and crafts, and community service projects, to help our students develop a well-rounded personality.
At IDBA, we believe that education is a lifelong journey, and we are committed to supporting our students beyond the classroom. We work closely with our students’ families and local communities to ensure that our students receive the support they need to succeed. We showcase students’ talent through camps, stage performances – dance, drama, mime, sports competitions at national & international platforms.
I would like to thank our dedicated team of teachers and staff for their hard work and commitment to our students’ success – who learn ISL and try best to adapt into deaf culture & respect deaf views. I would also like to express my gratitude to our donors and supporters for their belief on us and continued support to make IDBA a prestigious name in India.
Thank you
Sincerely,
Mrs. Monica Punjabi Verma
Principal, IDBA (MBS)
